Sunshine, Baby Bump and Muddy Puddles

I had the joy of spending a morning a few weeks ago with my niece and (pretty much) sister-in-law, who is expecting a baby in May. We wanted to take some photographs and record memories of this time in their lives. Even more fleeting than your children's lives as they grow up, that wonderful, nervy, sometimes uncomfortable and often exciting time while you're pregnant comes and goes so fast, though it may not seem so at the time especially if you're eagerly awaiting your first. Pregnancy has a really visual effect on your body so photographs are an ideal way of recording the change and celebrating what amazing things our bodies are capable of.

This session was even more special being part of my family and including my whirlwind of a niece who happens to love muddy puddles (thanks Peppa Pig!), which is ideal when she's wearing smart white tights and a pretty outfit. We didn't have many options but to accept the mud. It's just dirt, after all.
