A Look Back at My Photographs from 2016
It's customary as the new year approaches to glance in the rearview mirror and check out the year gone by. 2016 was a tough one for me and my family, but I've loved my photography this year.
I've photographed weddings and families, documenting the moments that they've shared together and always grateful to be invited to share that time with them. I photographed the actual birth of a human being! I've worked on my own projects and alongside other artists, including completing the nearly year-long project documenting Restoke's latest performance You Are Here and working on videography for the Feral Spaces of Middleport project. I've made far more photographs that I ever have before (evidenced by the increasing amount of storage space I get through!).
As always, the highlight is doing something that I love, capturing my own memories, being able to do the same for other people and meeting so many lovely, interesting folk along the way. With a pretty full calendar for 2017 (and 2016 work still to catch up and complete), I'm really looking forward to the year ahead. I'm aiming to be even more genuine with my work through more documentary images and to spend more time outside.
A big thank you to everyone I've worked with in 2016 and a Happy New Year to you all! I hope that you are happy in 2017.
